Education

Education, courses, seminars, conferences and presentations are all natural parts of NOTAM's work with the cultivation of knowledge about music technology and its uses. This part of our operations has different target groups - our offers range from individual courses about specific topics, through upgrading courses and summmer scools, to college or university level courses and supervision.

Some of the studies are continually on offer and give credits, while other courses can be made to order when interest in a given topic amongst our users suggests a demand. Our staff's proffessional knowledge covers a wide array of fields, making NOTAM capable of tailor-made education in music technology for most purposes.

Worthy of mention is the software DSP, which is made especially for elementary school level education, and which can be downloaded from a web site also offering texts, educational schemes, audio material, etc. The program runs on Mac OS, Windows and Linux.

We also have a collection of texts (albeit in Norwegian - we can however recommend English texts on these same topics upon request) in our archive that gives a great deal of useful information about sound, acoustics, signal processing and the development of music from the 1940's and onward.
